BIKE BRIDGE Freiburg.

In 2020 we are implementing already our fifth year of Bike & Belong courses. Until now we have offered 14 courses in the neighborhoods Gundelfingen, Herdern, Littenweiler, Messe, Rieselfeld, Stühlinger, Waldsee & Wiehre, as well as south from Freiburg in Schallstatt. We would like to offer classes in every neighborhood and are always looking for new course locations in order to enable learning & enjoyment of biking for as many as possible. Since 2019 we offer during the bike season (April – October) once per week an open training. Open Training.

We meet once a week for two hours and practice biking in tandems and small groups, get to know each other and spend time together. In summer we go on bike rides through the neighborhood for the advanced bikers.
You would like to learn or practice, or help women to bike? Then you are welcome to join our open training anytime. Attendance is free and registration is not necessary. During the training, we offer child care.

Bike Repair Shop Schopf 5.

Together with other social initiatives we use the bike repair shop of the City of Freiburg. Here donated bicycles are repaired to be used in our courses and then sold to our participants. Furthermore, we offer bike repair workshops.

Further Events & Activities.

As part of our Bike & Belong courses in Freiburg, we organize various events in order to thank our volunteers and to sustainably support the exchange between participants and trainers outside of the bike courses. This year’s program includes cooking events with Über den Tellerrand Freiburg, first aid courses, computer courses, bike rides with picnics, yoga/pilates courses, various workshops & end-of-season celebration. Do you enjoy fresh air and movement? Would you like to meet women from all around the world? Then you are at the right place. Bike Bridge e.V. welcomes volunteers as trainers and child care providers each year from April to October at open trainings and in the Bike & Belong courses. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. At a Train-the-Trainer workshop, you will be prepared for your work with us. Have we sparked your interest? Then we look forward to meeting you!
